What we build
Custom Balloon Arches for San Antonio Parties and Events
Put an arch over a doorway, a cake table or a stage and the whole room suddenly has a focal point.
Think of a balloon arch as a frame for whatever matters most at your event. It curves over an entrance, a sweetheart table, a dessert spread or the spot where the birthday kid blows out the candles, standing on its own frame or anchored at both ends. It costs far less than a floral arch, it reads from the back of a crowded hall, and it lands in nearly every photo and video your guests take.
We don't sell arches off a menu. Each design begins with your date, your palette and a measurement of the space, and then we choose the balloon mix that gets the shape right: 5-inch fillers for texture, 11-inch balloons for the body, 18- and 24-inch statement balloons for scale, plus chrome, pearl or foil accents if you want some shine. Our crew brings everything, builds the arch right where it will stand, and returns to take it down afterward.
Our arches show up at birthdays, baby showers, gender reveals, bridal showers and weddings, graduation parties, quinceañeras, bautizos, company events and ribbon cuttings, plus Fiesta get-togethers and Spurs watch parties. Anywhere there's a door to walk through, a table to frame or a corner that needs a photo spot, an arch earns its place.
Arch styles
The Balloon Arch Styles We Build
Shape changes everything about an arch. Here's each one we offer and where it shines.
Organic balloon arches
Organic arches skip the repeating pattern. Balloons of several sizes are grouped loosely so the arch looks lush and a little untamed, which is exactly the look most people have in mind when they send us a screenshot. They take greenery and silk flowers easily and look great in soft light, so they're the go-to for showers, weddings and big birthdays. Each foot holds more balloons than a classic arch does, which nudges the price up a bit.
Classic and spiral balloon arches
Classic arches stack tight four-balloon clusters along a frame to make a crisp, even tube of color. Rotate the colors cluster by cluster and the pattern twists into a spiral of two, three or four shades. It's the sharpest way to show off school or team colors, so it stays popular for graduations, booster club banquets, silver-and-black game nights and business events.
Round, circle and hoop arches
A round arch (you'll also hear ring, circle or hoop) runs balloons around some or all of a circular frame. A full ring frames one person for portraits. A crescent covers one side and leaves the middle open for a sign, a monogram or a view of the venue behind it. Proposals, sweet 16s and quinceañera photo corners use them constantly.
Square and backdrop arches
Square arches run balloons up both sides and across the top of a rectangular frame, usually around a backdrop panel, a sequin wall or a flower wall. That gives the cake table a defined stage and every photo a clean border. When the arch and the backdrop should be designed as one piece, our balloon backdrops page walks through the options.
Half and asymmetrical arches
A half arch, also called a swoop or demi arch, climbs one side of a doorway or backdrop and trails off partway across. It's the current designer look, and because it needs fewer balloons it's one of the smartest ways to get a big effect on a smaller budget.
Double arches
Two arches layered for depth, either one in front of the other or one nested inside it. Doubles hold their own in big rooms like a hotel ballroom, a church gym or an open ranch pavilion, where a single arch would look small.
Mini and tabletop arches
A tabletop arch is a small arch, typically 4 to 6 feet wide, that frames a cake, a dessert spread, a gift table or a sweetheart table. They're made for apartments, restaurant private rooms and baby showers where floor space is limited but you still want one spot that pulls the eye.
Entrance and doorway arches
An entrance arch tells guests where the party starts before they ever reach the door. We build them over front doors, garage doors, porch steps, courtyard gates, venue entries and storefronts. Outdoor arches are weighted against the gusty spring winds that sweep across South Texas, and a pair of balloon columns on either side turns it into a full entrance.
Large and giant balloon arches
Large arches start around 16 feet and span double doors, stages and driveways. For grand openings, school events and festivals, giant arches stretch 25 to 40 feet using 24- and 36-inch balloons. At that scale the arch is really a custom balloon installation, planned around the site, the anchor points and the wind.
Balloon arches with flowers and greenery
Nothing softens an arch like florals. Silk or fresh blooms, eucalyptus, pampas and trailing greenery get tucked between the clusters, which makes this style a natural fit for bridal showers, baptisms, first communions and Mother's Day brunches.

Sizing
Balloon Arch Sizes: What Fits Your Space?
Start with a tape measure. An undersized arch disappears in photos, and an oversized one crowds the doorway.
| Arch size | Where it fits | Approx. balloons |
|---|---|---|
| 4–6 ft tabletop or mini | Cake, dessert, gift and sweetheart tables | 60–110 organic |
| 6.5–7 ft frame arch | Photo corners, single doors, small backdrops | 90–130 organic |
| 10–12 ft arch | Front doors, porch steps, 8 ft backdrops | 150–220 organic or 60–75 classic |
| 16–20 ft arch | Double doors, stages, 10 ft backdrops | 240–360 organic or 100–130 classic |
| 25 ft and longer | Storefronts, gyms, outdoor entrances | Planned per site |
We measure an arch along its curve, not straight across the floor. A 16–20 ft arch usually stands about 8–9 ft high and spans 8–10 ft at the base. Balloon counts shift with balloon size and how dense the design is.
How many balloons do you need for a balloon arch? Plan on roughly 5–6 per foot for a classic arch of 11-inch balloons, and 12–18 per foot for an organic arch that layers 5-, 11- and 18-inch sizes. That puts a 6 ft organic arch at about 70–110 balloons and a 20 ft one at about 240–360. A 50-pack covers a tabletop or half arch, not a full doorway.
Pricing
How Much Does a Balloon Arch Cost in San Antonio?
Most full-size arches we build come in between $200 and $500. Here's where each style starts and what pushes the number up or down.
| Arch | Starting at |
|---|---|
| Tabletop or mini arch (4–6 ft) | $165 |
| Frame arch with garland (6.5–7 ft) | $199 |
| Doorway arch (10–12 ft) | $285 |
| Themed welcome arch with foil accents | $310 |
| Full balloon arch (16–20 ft) | $395 |
| Double, giant and 25 ft+ arches | Custom quote |
Delivery, setup and pickup are included across our core San Antonio service area. Drives of 35+ miles each way add a travel fee starting at $50.
What raises or lowers the cost of a balloon arch:
- Length and density. Every extra foot and every fuller cluster adds balloons and build time.
- Style. An organic arch packs more balloons into every foot than a classic or spiral one.
- The balloon mix. Chrome, pearl, double-stuffed balloons (one balloon inside another to get a custom shade) and 18–36 inch balloons cost more than standard latex.
- Extras. Florals, greenery, foil shapes, vinyl names, marquee letters and backdrop panels.
- How it stands. A frame or stand comes with most quotes; rigging an arch from a venue's beams or railings takes extra labor.
- Distance and timing. A run from Alamo Ranch out to Schertz, a 7 a.m. install or a tight hotel dock window all factor in.
- Takedown. We can come back for pickup, or skip it if you'd like to keep the balloons.
Need an exact figure? Send the date, venue, size and colors and you'll get a written quote back. Each of our other service pages lists its own starting prices too: garlands, columns and backdrops.

Balloon Arches for Every San Antonio Celebration
Every event asks something a little different of an arch. These are the ones we're booked for most.
Birthday party balloon arches
First birthdays (wild one, berry sweet, ONEderful), character parties, sweet 16s and milestone 30ths, 40ths, 50ths and 60ths, often with a marquee number or a foil age worked into the arch.
Baby shower and gender reveal arches
Soft neutrals and pastels for showers and sprinkles, and pink-and-blue arches for gender reveals with the big-moment balloon built right in.
Wedding balloon arches
Arches for ceremonies, receptions, bridal showers, engagement parties and anniversaries, usually in ivory, nude and champagne with greenery, including at Hill Country ranch venues out toward Boerne and Helotes.

Colors and themes
Popular Balloon Arch Colors and Themes in San Antonio
Send us a screenshot, an invitation or one color you love, and we'll build the palette out from there.
The color palettes we're asked for most
- Fiesta brights. Hot pink, turquoise, yellow, orange and lime, the April favorite and a natural match for lotería or cactus themes.
- Black and gold. The go-to for milestone birthdays, retirements and New Year's Eve.
- Blush, white and gold. Baby and bridal showers, plus plenty of first birthdays.
- Terracotta, sage and cream. A desert-boho palette that suits stucco walls, limestone and ranch venues.
- Silver and black. Spurs watch parties and playoff nights.
- School colors. Graduations, senior nights and signing days, from your high school's colors to UTSA orange and blue.
- Red, white and blue. Fourth of July cookouts, homecomings for service members and anything patriotic.
Themes
For character parties we pair licensed foil characters with latex in matching colors; Bluey, Mickey and Minnie, Spider-Man, Paw Patrol, Toy Story, Hello Kitty, Pokémon and Pooh come up all the time. Other local favorites include lotería and Fiesta themes, cactus and desert looks, rodeo and western parties around the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo each February, dinosaurs, mermaids, and "we can bearly wait" teddy bears for baby showers.
Your options
Full Install, Arch Rental or DIY Kit: Which Fits Your Party?
You've got a few ways to get an arch into your party. Here's how they stack up against each other.
| Option | What's included | Best when |
|---|---|---|
| Full installation | Design, delivery, on-site build and pickup | The arch is the centerpiece and you'd rather not spend party morning on a ladder |
| Balloon arch rental | A ready-made frame arch dropped off, then collected | Smaller arches, photo corners, simple setups |
| Grab-and-go garland | A finished garland you collect and hang yourself | Short runs over a table or wall, tight budgets |
| DIY balloon arch kit | Loose balloons, a decorating strip and glue dots in a bag | Small arches, plenty of time and a patient helper |
Is it easy to make a balloon arch yourself? A small kit arch is doable for a first-timer with a pump and a free afternoon. A full organic arch is another story: pros spend one to three hours on-site, while first-timers often need four to eight, plus a second trip to the party store. Balloons blown up too early or with the wrong pump also pop, wrinkle and turn dull. How do you make simple balloon decor? Start small, with a short garland over a doorway or three loose clusters at the corners of a table. When the arch is the centerpiece of the day, having it built for you is usually worth it.
San Antonio weather
Outdoor Balloon Arches in San Antonio Heat, Sun and Wind
An arch can absolutely go outside here. It just needs a plan for the sun.
South Texas summers are tough on latex. A normal July afternoon in San Antonio tops out around 95°F, the city usually racks up a few weeks of triple-digit days each year, and late July through mid-August is the hottest stretch. Sun hits an arch three ways: heat expands the air inside until balloons burst, UV light oxidizes latex so it goes cloudy within hours, and dark colors soak up the most heat. Spring has its own risks, with gusty days and April and May thunderstorms that can bring hail.
- Find the shade. Covered patios, porches, the shade of a big live oak, tents and the north side of the house are the best spots for an outdoor arch.
- Build late. For summer afternoon parties we time the install close to start time instead of first thing in the morning.
- Use air, not helium. Outdoor arches are air-filled and mounted on a frame, because helium balloons droop quickly in this heat.
- Go light outside. Whites, pastels and metallics outlast black, navy and deep red in full sun.
- Anchor everything. Outdoor arches get sandbags or weighted bases plus ties, especially on open ranch lawns and hilltop venues where nothing breaks the wind.
- Have a storm plan. A light shower won't hurt latex. Lightning, hail or strong wind means moving the arch indoors or under cover.
Longevity
How Long Does a Balloon Arch Last?
Inside and air-filled, an arch looks good for days. Outside in a San Antonio summer, plan on the length of the party.
| Setup | Typical life |
|---|---|
| Air-filled, indoors with the A/C running | Several days, often a week or longer |
| Air-filled, outdoor shade in spring or fall | A full day, often into the next one |
| Air-filled, outdoors in direct summer sun | A few hours before it fades and pops |
| Helium arch or helium bouquets | Hours, unless treated to float longer |
Will a balloon arch hold up for 4 days? Indoors and air-filled, yes, which is why a night-before install works for a morning event and why arches for multi-day events stay inside. Can a balloon arch go up the night before? In a climate-controlled room, no problem at all. Outside in summer, build it the day of.

Questions
Balloon Arches in San Antonio: FAQ
What does it cost for a balloon arch?
Our arches start at $165 for a tabletop arch, $199 for a 6.5–7 ft frame arch and $395 for a full 16–20 ft arch, delivered and installed. The final price depends on size, style, balloon count, extras and the drive.
How long do balloon arches last?
Several days indoors when air-filled, often a week or more with air conditioning. In outdoor shade, about a day. In direct San Antonio summer sun, a few hours. Helium arches only last hours unless they're treated.
How many balloons go into a balloon arch?
About 12–18 per foot for an organic arch and 5–6 per foot for a classic one. A 6 ft arch needs roughly 70–110 balloons, and a 20 ft organic arch roughly 240–360.
Is a balloon arch different from a balloon garland?
The garland is the flexible strand of balloon clusters. An arch is a garland, or a run of classic clusters, mounted on a frame or anchored so it stands and curves over something. A garland can also lie along a mantel, wrap a table or hang flat on a wall.
Do balloon arches use helium?
Usually not. Arches are filled with air and held up by a frame, so they last longer and cost less. Helium is for floating arches and bouquets, which last from a few hours to a day.
Can you put a balloon arch outside in San Antonio?
Yes. Outdoor arches are air-filled, weighted down and placed in shade whenever possible. Summer sun and heat fade and pop latex within hours, so outdoor summer arches go up close to party time.
How far ahead should I book my balloon arch?
Two to four weeks is ideal. Book earlier for Fiesta in April, May and June graduations, Halloween and December weekends, and wedding-season Saturdays.
Can my balloon arch be set up the night before?
Indoors, yes. An air-filled arch built the evening before looks the same the next morning. Outdoor arches are built on the day.
Can I get inflated balloons delivered?
Yes. Every arch, garland, column and backdrop we build is delivered inflated and assembled at your venue. Ready-made frame arches and grab-and-go garlands are also available if you'd rather set up yourself.
Are balloon arches still in style?
Very much. Organic arches, half arches and arches paired with florals and backdrops are the current look for showers, weddings, birthdays and company events. Tight spiral arches are the older style, but they're still the best way to show off school and team colors.
What if a guest has a latex allergy?
Ask us for a latex-free design. Arches, walls and backdrops can be made entirely from foil balloons, and plenty of hospitals, clinics, schools and offices allow foil only.
Do you tip a balloon decorator?
It's up to you. Plenty of hosts tip the crew 10–15% for a big or early-morning install, and others leave a review instead.
Tell us the date. We'll build the balloon arches.
Send your date, venue and colors and get a written quote with a design plan. Free, and no obligation.
